First Age

Year 0:

Through oral traditions and the oldest of texts, we learn that the Elder Races Awakened. The Dragons, Elves, Great Men, Fae and the enigmatic and unstable Simaricans began to populate the lands on the western shores of Kith. From there, they migrated eastward to expand their Lands.

Year 200: As the Elder Races expanded eastward, they discovered the stalwart Dwarves in the region now known as the Barren Mountains. These mountains held a tremendous amount of metallic and mineral riches that the Dwarves greedily guarded. Despite a honest desire to trade, the Elves learned that the Dwarves absolutely refused to part with the mountains gifts. Due to this impasse, the Elves raided several Dwarven mines and soon war broke out. During the middle of this brief war, the infamous Draconic greed took hold of the Dragon/Drake hearts. Overcome with desire for the finished artistic work of Elves and Dwarves, the Dragons/Drakes raided their towns and cities. Unfortunately for the besieged Elves and Dwarves, their other ally the Simaricans seemed to be slowly disappearing. Also during this time of strife, the Dwarves learned to temporarily hold magical energy in place by creating Runes. This advancement gave them a strategic advantage over their quicker Elven enemies and the monstrous Dragons/Drakes.

Year 400: Three new Races came out of the old holdings of the Simaricans: the Sidha, the Arcane Lords and the Changlings. Like the Dwarves, the Changlings and Arcane Lords were long lived but mortal. The Sidha, like the Elves, were virtual untouched by time and ageless. After many peace negotiations with these new Races, Elves and the Dwarves joined their Lands and ended their war. This new alliance quickly explored the lands beyond their current holdings. Here they discovered new wonders and awakened Races. During this time, the Sidha King had a great dream of peace, hope and prosperity. Advancements in the use of magic, culture, and arts rapidly progressed.

Year 1259: The Sidha Empire spanned 1/5 of the continent of Kith. Either the Races they meet join peacefully or through conquest. During the later part of this year, the Sidha Empire started came an era of exploration beyond their borders and across the seas. Despite this period of expansion and learning, the Arcane Lords complained of restrictions on magical experimentation. They wished to more fully explore the school of Life magic. The Sidha, (as the ruling class) ruled such arts forbidden, as they were the venue of the gods.

Year 1351: In this year a number of abducted Elven children and young adults were reported to the Sidha Empire. Angered, the Elves demand that the Sidha Empire search for their missing brethren. Enough evidence supported a theory that the Empire was responsible for the abductions. Despite the evidence, the Empire denied responsibility. Inquiries by the Sidha to the Arcane Lords and Changlings revealed no evidence to support the theory. Late that same year, the first Orcs appeared near the northern border of the Sidha Empire near what is now known as the Cairn Hills. This new Race raided northern villages and hamlets. Unable to reason with the Orcs, the Sidha Empire declared them enemies of the Empire. Being the largest portion of the Sidha Empire warriors, Elves and Dwarves were sent to the border. During these skirmishes, the Elves made a startling discovery. Exactly what remains unknown but it does lead to the legendary Orc – Elf hatred.

Year 1384: Along the Eastern edge of the Empire a new Race raided. The Goblins joined the Orcs in their raids on the Empire holdings. Scrawnier than the Orc, the Goblins made up for it in sheer numbers and cunning. During the initials raids, the Dwarves learned to hate the Goblins. Several Dwarven complexes fell to the inventive Goblins despite Dwarven skill, intelligence and bravery. What really irked the Dwarves was the Goblins tendency to kill children and women first, all to taunt the men. Due to their actions the infamous Ledger of Wrongs came into being.

Year 1487: The great Idiyva (Lion men) of the western Yursnic plains joined the Sidha Empire peacefully. The Sidha sighed, as the prideful Idiyva nation rivaled their empire’s strength. The Sidha thanked their Arcane Lord brethren for their silver tongued diplomacy.

Year 1524: During this year, a number of Gates opened through out Kith. From these Gates a great evil stepped through and invaded all the Lands. No Race was spared their predations. However, the Races quickly expunged the Enemy from Kith and closed the Gates. Soon afterwards, many rumors indicated that several Arcane Lords conspired with the Enemy. The Sidha quickly squashed such rumors. Despite assurance from the Sidha, several Arcane Lords and Changlings met their doom at the hands of executioners. During this same year, an Arcane Lord becomes the first Dragon Lord.

Year 1827: Despite enemies outside of their borders, the Sidha Empire begins to look for problems internally. The Sidha, Arcane Lords and Changlings realize that their once secure position has become unstable. Mainly due to the fact that the “Lesser” Races now outshine them in skills, lore and magic. Due to this, many mishaps begin to plague these other Races. Here Elven, Dwarven and various other racial documents tell the tale of beginning corruption and decadence in the courts.

Year 1998: Discovered by a exploration team that went south, Titans and Giant kin make their presence known. The Empire extended these enormous peoples a place in the Empire. While the Titans join the Empire eagerly, the Giants declined. For whatever reason, this enraged the Sidha. In a uncharacteristically hasty decision, the Emperor declared war upon them. A majority of the populace balks at the decision, with the (name lost) leading the defiance of the orders. It is enough time for the Giants to retreat to Lands outside of the Sidha Empire. The Empire sends known dissidents and their families out to the Northern, Eastern, and Southern edges of the Empire to “colonize”. Many did not survive the journey or their settlements destroyed soon after their construction. Some actually thrived in the lawless frontier of the Sidha Empire. Discovery of new Races, animals, and creatures came back in reports from these frontier lands. The Arcane Lords asked their brethren if they could govern these new lands. The Sidha allowed their brethren to govern a few of these frontier towns as rewards for services rendered. During this time, the Giants raided all along the Empire’s borders.

Year 2381: The first rebellion of the Sidha Empire lead to a drastic tragedy for the Empire. Records from Elves and Dwarves indicate that the race (name lost in time) was peaceful and was taking political steps to remove themselves from the corrupt empire. However the Race became a victim of Arcane Lords magic and Changeling treachery. When the dust settled, the massacre of the Race was complete. The Arcane Lords tell the Sidha that it was absolutely necessary in order to protect the Empire.

Years 2384: In shock of the massacre, the other Races began to quietly talking amongst themselves. Appalled the Titan quickly and quietly moved out of the Empire. So quietly, that only the Fae, Elves and Dwarves noticed their absence until months later. The Sidha (though most likely the Arcane Lords and Changlings) viewed this as an affront and declared them enemies. Several Elves and Dwarves tried to appeal the declaration. These individuals “disappeared” and the families warned not to make inquires. In fear of their lives, the families fled to the frontiers of the the Empire and beyond. As members of the original Lands, the Elves and Dwarves became disgusted with the Sidha Empire. Unable to remove themselves from the Empire due to fear, they began to prepare for the worse.

Year 2512 – 2559: The Fae turn secretive, even to their Elven brethren. In less than thirty years they quit the Empire and seek “wilder” lands. Even the Elves feel the lands “taming” despite a larger number of monstrous animals and beings in the Empire itself. Imperial Scrolls of that time period indicate that most of the population lived in cities and very large towns. Also noted in ledgers, there was a startling statistic, a majority of the races moving to the frontiers consist of Elves, Dwarves, Idivya, Arcane Lords, and a race called Intergen. While settling lands to the south east the Dwarves discovered the Eaters of the Dead. Or also known as Dwarf Eaters, these huge reptilian humanoids raided Dwarven holdings. While the Dwarves held their own, they called for the Empire’s aid. Aid was not what they received. Shocking most the citizens of the Empire, the Sidha extended a place in the Realm for the Eaters. The Dwarves almost declared war on the Empire for the betrayal of trust. In fact, the Lords secretly wanted to “teach” the runts a lesson. Instead the Elves stepped in and “slapped” the Dwarves into submission. Enraged the Dwarves stopped speaking to the Elves.

Year 2578: The Dwarves received a package that the Ambassador of the Intergen stole from an Arcane Lord. With in the package was information dealing with the Eaters and the “lesson” the Arcane Lords prepared for their peoples. Shocked and realizing the Elves had saved them from such a fate, the Dwarves were shamed. Here the first Oath Breakers came into being. In the only historical recoded moment, the incident was stricken from the Ledger of Wrongs and the Dwarves apologized for their actions. The Elves accepted for no race should be “punished” in the mode the Lords planned. Both races blamed individuals within the Arcane Lords race but remain wary of their kind in general.

Year 2626: During a surprise raid on Giants, the Eaters of the Dead showed their worth to the Empire. The Eaters ambushed a unsuspecting outpost of a hundred warrior Stone Giants. The Eaters out numbered the Giants three to one, and when the last giant fell only twenty-six Eaters lived. Despite the loses, the Empire rewarded the Eaters for their valor. The night that the Eaters were rewarded by the Empire, an earthquake destroyed the holdings of an entire clan of Dwarves. Scrolls recently uncovered by adventurers, show a more sinister incident. Kidnapped and delivered to the Eaters, the captive Dwarves’ fate was grisly. Most were used as food but some were forced to become slaves and breeding stock. Here lies the foundation of the birth of the Drukenan clan.

Year 2689 – 3245: Hostilities within the Empire ceased when a new menace appears. A war-like insectiod race invades the North eastern border crushing all initial opposition. Like a swarm, the Scarv swept over all the Lands. Their intent for all Races relayed by survivors form frontier Lands – consumption or host to their young. The Empire declares war upon this plague. During a crucial battle near Firebloom Mire, the Empire received aid from a bipedal Race of wolves called Vulfen. After several bloody battles, the Scarv retreated to inhospitable regions and declared no longer a threat. The Empire asks the Vulfen to join them, but the lupine Race politely refuses. The Sidha, perplexed by the decline, quickly go back to their cities. The Changlings however, take great insult at the Vulfen’s refusal. The Vulfen civilization receives a crippling blow as all of its leaders are slain in one night. The infighting to establish new Pack leaders keeps the Vulfen preoccupied for decades to come.

3301- 3310: Unknown to the Changlings, the Vulfen peoples knew who slain their leaders. It seems that they could sniff the shape shifters out. Despite what form they took they still had a distinct smell to the Vulfen. The Vulfen, angered by this treacherous act, began to hunt down Changlings and eliminate them. Unfortunately the enraged Vulfen often killed individuals around the shape-shifters as well. These incidents lead to a short-lived war. Unaware of the Changlings actions, the Sidha protected their brethren and attacked the Vulfen Lands. Unexpectedly the Sidha unleashed terrible magics, and revealed hidden reserves stored for centuries. The Lords joined them, all the while enjoying it far too much. Great Crystal golems marched with Sidha warriors to crush these barbarians. The Vulfen had their allies as well. Ogres, Goblins, Minotaurs, Sea-Krals and many others comprised their armies. Technically the Sidha Empire won the war, though just barely. Their enemies survived and even seem to thrive off the chaos caused by the war. In the end, the Sidha constructed fortresses along their frontier borders to “protect” their citizens from the barbaric hordes. Disgusted even more, Elves and Dwarves slipped to the frontiers away from the civilized cities and towns.

Year 4421: It is noted by scholars of the Sidha Empire, that the land around the cities became untamed. Many rightfully believed that less land was being used by the farmers, allowing it to return to it’s natural state. Also noted by the scholars, the military patrolled less of the land concentrating on heavily populated areas. During this time the Sidha, Changlings, and Arcane Lords recovered from the Vulfen Skirmishes. Due to the heavy damages their armies and reserves received, the Sidha give the Lords permission to experiment with new magics. Little did the Sidha know how far their brethren would fall during these experiments.

Year 4781 – 4914: A war that would be simply named the Giant War by ancient Sidha documents. However, it is not a simple war. This would be the first true test of the Empire’s resolve and back bone. For the Giants allied with the Vulfen nation in an effort to break this (to the Giants and Vulfen) decadent and evil Empire. A large army of the allied forces swept across the Eastern border. The total might of the Empire could have possibly dealt with this menace, however from the south came a different army. One composed of humanoid lizards and snake-like men. In their arrogance, the Sidha, Changlings, Arcane Lords, Eaters of the Dead and Idiyva marched to meet both of these disasters splitting their forces. So high was their arrogance, that the Sidha declared only the elite forces would be needed to deal with both armies. The other Races of the Empire were left behind to take care of stragglers that might slip by the main forces. Once the Eastern Sidha army clashed with the Giants it became apparent they underestimated the well prepared Vulfen forces. So much so, that in the first day of battle this once haughty army retreated three times While the Eastern forces fought the Giants and held, the Lizard men slaughtered the Southern Sidha army. Sensing easy prey, the cold blooded predators surged northward. However they meet a prepared and less proud army of Elves, Dwarves, Intergen, commoner Sidha and a variety of other races a mere few leagues past the slaughtered Sidha forces. Using tactics that maximized each of the Races abilities, they routed their reptilian foes in a matter of days. During this time word reached them that the Eastern Sidha army was losing their battle with the Giants. Here could have been the turning point of the Empire. Here the army could have stayed and just defended their homes. Instead they thought of the innocents that would be killed. There was no hesitation in their decision. Though the decision cost them dearly to do so. For three days the army ran towards the pitched battle. As they moved a messenger relayed to them that the rest of the Sidha army, with the Emperor, marched to the field of battle as well. The Emperor’s army would take two weeks to reach the front. Everyone knew it would be too late. Determined to stop the Giants at it’s current front, the army double-timed it. Those too weak or wounded fell behind or died in the attempt to reach the battle. When the force arrived at the battle, it was at a crucial turning point. The Giants were attempting to close a trap using two strong forces, like a scorpion’s claw. Tired and hungry the Reserves knew they had no choice. They charged into battle to aid their fellow citizens. Chaos ensued as the Giants and Vulfen forces were completely surprised! During the midst of battle the Eaters attacked the Dwarves. Outraged at this betrayal when they came to help, the Elves turned to a man and helped the Dwarves slaughter the Eaters on the field. During this carnage the Sidha, Idiyva and Lords slipped out of the field of battle. The battle between the Reserves and the Vulfen continued through the night. The Sidha forces, after taking roll call, realized their number was less than one tenth of when it marched to meet the enemy. Shamed that they had essentially failed, several spell casters came up with a way to save face. Hurriedly they prepared for a ritual spell of great destruction. One that would raze the land where the battle took place and force the blood of the earth to the surface. The ritual would take several days, and the remaining Eastern Sidha forces took a defensive circle around the casters, Meanwhile, the beleaguered Reserves fought with all they had. For two days, they fought with little sleep or food. As a sign of respect the Vulfen retreated back enough to allow them rest and food. Then the Vulfen army surged forward in anticipation, for here was the true might of the Empire. The real back bone both in valor and morality of the Empire. Meanwhile the Reserves wondered where the surviving Sidha army went during the battle. After the third day of casting, the ritual caused a volcano to erupt under the feet of both armies. When the Emperor arrived a week later, the battered and weary Sidha army told him what happened. Well not quite the whole truth. They neglected to mention they had not warned the Reserves of their plan. The Emperor saluted the Reserves valor for holding the enemies in place so they could be defeated. Unknown to anyone at the time, there were survivors from both armies despite the unleashed fury of a volcano. The Vulfen – Giant alliance balked at the horror of the spell unleashed. On principle alone, they raided the Sidha’s border for another thirty odd some years. However, when they raided the forces avoided Elven, Intergen and Dwarven settlements. They found a respect for these races and the Vulfen actually traded with these settlements. As to the survivors of the Reserves, they spread the truth amongst their kind.

4924: The new volcano, now named Steam Mountain, covers the area in perpetual fog. This new and untamed volcano became the research center for the Dragon Master Arcane Lord named Sehalion. Here the most “progressive” magical experimentations of the Arcane Lords take place.

4945: The Lizardmen and Sstoi’isslythi, finally recovered from the Giant War, and petitioned to join the Empire. The Sidha warmly welcome them, and thus increase their Lands even more. In the same year, the Sidha learn to open planar gates to other realms of reality. Shortly after opening the Gates, new resources start entering the Empire. Some citizens vocally protest the Gates remaining open. For it may be possible for the Enemy to find them once again.

5012 – 5891: A period of peace and prosperity for the Empire. During this time the Empire slowly begin to expand into lands once denied them. A strange disease had ravaged the Vulfen Land and the Giants over the years became isolationists. While the Orcs and Goblins still raided the Empire, they fought each other more often than not. During this period the Elves and Dwarves slowly removed themselves from the cities and returned to the wilds. Here both Races grew in a number of ways. They, like the Fae, suffered from being removed from the lands. While the Sidha did not understand it, they let the two Races leave. The Arcane Lords became furious at the departure of duo though. Documentation indicated that the Lords experimented on Elves and Dwarves secretly kidnapped, all in an effort to find a way exterminate these Races.

6749: The Empire shuts down the Senate and declared the Emperor as the sole ruler of the Empire. With out the Elves and the Dwarves to lead the opposition, the other Races failed to stop this travesty.

6750 – 8421: After the Senate dissolution the Empire becomes more militaristic. The Emperor declares that to be a citizen of the Empire one must be born of a founding Race or serve as a solider of the Empire’s armies. The Empire begins to heavily use the Gates to bring in additional Resources, so much in fact that the Lands are not used except to live upon. The Enemy’s minions have shown up a few times but are beaten back. Any worlds lost to the Enemy are closed off, until an army is sent through to deal with it. New worlds discovered by the Empire leads to new allies and new enemies. Some fear that the Empire will find an stronger adversary than it can deal with sooner or later.

8422 – 8758: The Great Cthugen Wars saw the fears come to fruition. It started out as several northern towns lost contact with the Empire. A few survivors recounted what happened, and the Emperor paled at the tales. A new race raided from a different world for the same reasons the Sidha colonized other realms: Resources. However, every living thing on Kith consisted as a resource to these horrendous beings. Word was sent to the armies, and a missive to the weakened Vulfen Confederacy. This long and brutal war encompassed the entire continent of Kith. The Cthugen reaped all the Races, none were spared their attacks. No even the Scarv! In an all out bid for survival, the Vulfen Confederacy and the Sidha Empire joined a temporary alliance to beat the Cthugen back. They managed to expunge a majority of this enemy out of Kith. Those that remained fled underground to escape death. Both nations lost much in the war and quietly retreated to their Lands.

8875: During this time of recovery a new Race appeared in the east. The Nethandrals lived the the mountains far away from the more civilized areas of the Vulfen Confederacy. Believing them nothing more than an animal, the Vulfen ignored them. In fact they received a barely mentioned to the Elven/Dwarven frontiersmen that the Vulfen traded with.

8905: Despite the appearance of the Cthugen, the Sidha Empire and the Vulfen Confederacy build more Gates to other worlds and realms of existence.

9145: There exist on record rumors of the Cthugen capturing many Nethandrals and taking them into the depths of the earth.

9987: For unknown reasons, the earthnodes across Kith erupt with thrice the normal amount of magic. Records indicated that rumors from the East state that strange beings of an unknown Race were tampering with the Lands magic flows. These beings appeared to be Arcane Lords with only five fingers. To go along with these rumores, the Vulfen Confederacy claimed that they could not die. That they had cut them down and destroyed the bodies in a variety of ways. Only the beings would reappear several days later, completely unharmed. The stories remained unbelieved by the Empire until the beings came to their Lands. Unlike the the Vulfen, the Emperor ordered his soldiers to escort the beings to him. The beings called themselves the Wanderer and Salizar, this becomes the first friendly contact with two powerful individuals. The Wanderer appeared in front of the Emperor and in a short time became an advisor to him. The Wanderer began to speak with the Arcane Lords quite often on his free time.

10015 – 10875: Another period of peace. A majority of the Races continued to recover from the devastating Cthugen War. The Elves and Dwarves recovered their lost lore, Lands and skills completely during this time. . In essence they become independent states within the Empire and unlike other Races did not reside in one contiguous area . The Lords foresaw the potential of a great alliance betwixt the two Races. So they used their Changlings to spread dissent and rumors to separate the Elves and Dwarves. While not entirely successful, a schism develops between the two Races. However, it may very well have been developing as both Races had very different natures. The Arcane Lords directed the Changlings to continue the rumor-mongering with other Races as well.

11108 – 11458: Listening to the guidance of the Wanderer and Salizar, the Sidha declare laws to constrain Races to certain areas of the Empire. The Empire tried to make the Elves and Dwarves comply unsuccessfully. The two Races claim right of Citizenship based on their ancient heritage as founding members of the Empire. This spreads seed of anger and dissension amongst the other Races against them. Most have no knowledge of this info and the Lords and Changlings spread lies to the contrary. Due to the Faes’ absence, the Empire declares them non-citizens. The Elves reaction was unanimous: Outrage! To the East the Vulfen are pushed northward by a new Race called Man. Organized into loose clans and families they reproduce quickly. Once again the Cthugen strike and capture several clans of Men . Due to the Mens ability to push the Vulfen northward, the Arcane Lords take an interest in the Race. The Arcane Lords began plans to make Men an enslaved Race. However, the Elves and Dwarves were carefully watched the Lords and enacted their own plans. They taught Man how to forge bronze and magics. As such Man had their own ability of choice and many fought free of the shackles the Arcane Lords tried to force upon them!

Year 12427 – 12462: It’s during this time, that magic slowly becomes easier to manipulate. Magic soon became more of a learned art versus just raw talent. From the Arcane Realm three new schools were developed: Channeling, Essence, and Mentalism. The Empire sets up schools of magic for the Essence and Mentalism realms. Channeling remains for some time more of a talent in communicating with Aru and the lesser gods. Overtime, Channeling also has more of a set way of invoking the power of deities. Very subtly hinted in the texts and scrolls is a startling revelation. The Empire steered each Race towards a realm of magic. While each Race can access any realm, they definitely work some realms of magic better than others.

Year 12447 – 12487: A period of great unrest and misinformation for the Sidha Empire. During this time, the bell of doom begins to toll for the Empire. The Arcane Lords and a good portion of the Changlings made a bid for power. They renegotiate the terms of the Citizenship of the Eaters of the Dead and Idiyva. These Races become close allies with the Lords and begin to build up arms and Power. Despite the obvious swing of power, the noble Sidha remain oblivious to the corruption and hatred found within their Lands. Others are not so blissfully unawares. The Elves, Intergen and Dwarves secure a alliance with more than half of the Man clans and prepare for the worst. The rest of the clans side with the Lords and their ilk. These Men undergo changes subtly applied to them by the Lords. Those Changlings still faithful to the Empire warn their Sidha brethren but it’s far too late. In a surprisingly hasty move the Arcane Lords pronounce the Sidha weak and declared WAR! They use the reason that the Sidha were corrupt and behind all the misdeeds of the Empire.

Years 12487 -14815: The War of the Races starts off as a civil war in the Sidha Empire that soon engulfed the continent in flames. Due to the rumors spread by the Changlings and Arcane Lords, most Races fight alone unable to trust anyone else. Even the Elves and Dwarves fought one another due to the lies spread by these masters of deceit. At first it appeared as the Lords would ultimately win the War with their chosen allies. However, the Lords chose poorly in some of their allies. During the midpoint of the War, there was a crucial battle between the Elves and Dwarves. In order to finish off their hated enemies, the Lords sent in an Orcish army to slaughter any survivors. Unknown to the Lords, both of these Elven and Dwarven armies were fresh and relatively untouched. Near the beginning of the battle the Orcish horde appeared and in a bloodlust charged into the fray. Both armies noticed the charging Orc horde and stopped fighting each other to deal with this new threat. In the midst of the chaos of the battlefield the Orcish chieftain, Dwarven Thane and Elven Duke met. The Orc chieftain, in his pride, believed he could not lose as the Arcane Lords plans thrived on the lies and chaos it spread. In a moment of pure arrogance, the chief gloated and revealed to his adversaries the Arcane Lords plans. The plans that caused the once close allies to fight and weaken one another. He called them both fools. However, his words verified thoughts both the Elves and Dwarves suspected. So enraged were both leaders that they rallied, slew their haughty opponent, and ultimately lead their armies to victory over the horde with light causalities. Both Races felt shame, for they allowed their pride to get the better of them. Quickly the two armies retreated from the field to their peoples. In secret they met again and formed an alliance. To their banner came the human clans (reduced in number), the humbled Sidha, Intergen, Titans and a few other races. The number of warriors gathered far outnumbered the estimates the Arcane Lords came up with. For each Race held back their true numbers to make sure they would not go into the oblivion of extinction.

final 01

The Vulfen led a third fraction consisting of Orcs not allied with the Lords, Goblins, Ogres, Sea-Kral and other races. The number of their forces eclipsed that of the Elven/Dwarven Alliance. The battles, skirmishes, and slaughter of the War lead to the extinction of many Races.. Even Races that align themselves to Light committed atrocities in order to survive and direct the Fate of Kith. Of the surviving Races the Sidha were hit hardest and took steps to preserve their kind. Some decided to take what is called the Long Sleep. They left their crystal golems as guardians of these areas. Others decided to become nomads and never settle one spot. However, the records indicated their kind died out eventually due to persecution and natural disasters.

To say that the Arcane Lords went down quietly would be a lie. Their horrific experiments were used in the War. Necromancy caused the Dead to join their ranks, Silvermasks caused enemies to become unstoppable warriors to their cause, Shards and other artificial life forms swelled their armies ranks. Using twisted Life Magics , the Lords created the Trolls. Unknown to them or an other Races, they brought into being a Race that exceeded the Orcs in cruelty and ferocity. Yet all these magics, allies and creations meant nothing as the Vulfen Confederacy continuously smashed into the Lords positions. The Changlings, rightfully so, feared for their lives as Vulfen hunted them down. So in retaliation they assassinated and poisoned the wolf-like peoples. All hoped for a chance of reprieve and recovery.

Still it was for naught as the nations fell and chaos reigned supreme. During this time the Great Ritual of Sealing was preformed by the Alliance to keep the Enemy out, as the Lords were summoning his minions to fight in the War. In retaliation the Arcane Lords destroyed the forest and hills that the Sstoi’isslythi called home. Then the dragons came. Tired of the destruction and death, they slammed their power on all the Races. While some died, the result was completed. Fear drove the races into hiding wherever they could. So ended the first War of the Races, and with it the Sidha Empire and Vulfen Confederacy. Many things happened during this war. Many of them were horrific. I spare you, the reader, a vast majority of it for various reasons.

Year 14816 – 16457: Those Races that survived the War of the Races stayed isolated from others and began to recover. The Dwarves settled nine regions and became separate distinct clans. The Elves took refuge in the forest and jungles of Kith. The Vulfen, greatly reduced in number, fled north to the Artic Step Mountains. The remaining Races took areas they felt an attunement to. However, some Races found they could easily live in any type of land: Orc, Goblin, Man, Troll and Giants. For these peoples, they settled where they could. As time passed, the shorter lived Races recovered from the War quickly. Due to their shorter life spans, they quickly forgot the horrors that occurred. Sure the Lands bared scars and due to the Lords meddling new monstrosities walked the lands. Also the magics released caused some natural animals to evolve in new beings. The War was primarily recorded by the longer lived Races who recovered more slowly and wished to remind others to prevent this from happening again. Towards the end of this period, Man began to expand to new areas. So ends the First Age.
